Sutton Hoo Press was founded in 1989 by poet C. Mikal Oness while he was a student at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and an apprentice at The Windhover Press of K.K. Merker. Everwine was from Detroit, won a Pushcart Prize, a Guggenheim, NEA, Stegner Fellowship, etc. , but forget all that: this is a book of poems, beautifully rendered, that will move you, if you can be moved.
"Truth is, the world fell in on him
as it commonly does when you stray
from the garden path and run head on
into the pain that, until then,
was as lost as you."
